About The Little Bird House
The Little Bird House is a safe, gentle, creative space for children and young people to connect with, express and process their emotions and challenges. The Little Bird House has two bases, in the seaside village of Porthtowan, Cornwall and near Pangbourne, West Berkshire.
I am primarily based In Cornwall where our therapy room is a bright, comfy and cheerful space filled with art materials, toys, books, slime and clay, for children and young people to immerse themselves in. During school hours, Children of Towan Preschool are downstairs in the hall so there may be the happy buzz of little voices.

Let's create
We have cupboards filled with resources, which the children and young people have free access to. I generally have some materials out at the beginning of the session, but they are free to choose other resources depending on their feelings and need.
Let's get comfy
We have a squishy sofa with soft cushions, blankets and a huge bean bag on a rug, as well as a table and chairs.

Sand play therapy
In sand play therapy, figures and objects representing all aspects of life and nature, are used to symbolise events and situations in our inner and outer lives. We use objects and sand to create scenes that reflect and express their innermost world of psychological processes. Suitable for children, young people and adults this can be a powerful therapeutic tool. I find that some clients request to use the sand tray regularly, sometimes every week. We have a cupboard full of sand play figures to explore and create with.
Accessibilty
Porthtowan Village Hall has as a downstairs accessible toilet, blue badge parking and an accessible entrance. The Little Bird House however, is in an upstairs room. We can be accessed by a seated staircase lift, but no lift that fits a wheelchair. However, we are able to use a downstairs room to ensure we are 100% accessible. Please let me know when we talk if this will help meet your child's needs.
Our therapy room in West Berkshire is ground floor level and fully accessible.
